Three payment and commerce providers set out the infrastructure for purchases by AI agents in the same week: Revolut via Revolut Pay, Adyen with Adyen Agentic and Shopify with the catalog plus Shop Pay. The question shifts from "Can an agent buy?" to "Over which rail, with what approval and in which region?" Availability in Europe is open for Adyen and Shopify, Revolut names the UK and EEA, and fully autonomous support is not yet considered a market standard.
🇪🇺 EU · Revolut makes Revolut Pay a payment rail for AI agents
According to a report of 13 October 2026, Revolut is positioning Revolut Pay as a payment layer through which AI agents can complete purchases on behalf of consumers, explicitly in the UK and EEA. The surrounding coverage mentions AP2 building blocks and a roadmap for account-to-account payments. Still open: according to the report, broad, fully autonomous support is not yet an established market standard.
What you can do: Check whether your payment provider offers Revolut Pay. Ask how payments by agents are handled and approved through it.

🇪🇺 EU · Adyen introduces "Adyen Agentic" for selling through AI platforms
On 15 October 2026, Adyen announced a modular API suite: Agentic Feed, Agentic Cart and Agentic Payments. It is meant to let merchants sell through conversational AI platforms and accept agentic payments. Whether and when it will be available in Europe is not stated in the source.
What you can do: If you are an Adyen customer, ask your contact in writing: Is Adyen Agentic available in your country, and what product data does the Agentic Feed need?

🌐 Global · Shopify opens its catalog to more AI agents and ties them to Shop Pay
According to reports of 13 and 14 October 2026, buyers can connect more AI agents to the Shopify catalog. The agents search offers, apply shopping rules and complete purchases through Shop Pay. Every purchase still requires the buyer's approval. The sources say nothing about availability in Europe.
What you can do: Shopify merchants: In the admin, check the settings for Agentic Storefronts and whether your products appear correctly in the catalog. On other platforms, ask your provider whether something similar is planned.

To-dos for tomorrow
Ask your payment provider in writing whether it offers Revolut Pay or Adyen Agentic, how payments by agents are approved, and whether the solution is available in your country. Adyen customers should also clarify what product data the Agentic Feed needs. Shopify merchants should check the Agentic Storefronts settings in the admin and whether their products appear correctly in the catalog.
