Agentic Commerce has arrived in day-to-day operations this week: Wolf & Badger received a first agentic order in Europe via Stripe, Shopify has switched on agent checkout by default for eligible merchants, and Cheq saw agentic traffic rise 100-fold within 45 days. At the same time, infrastructure and access are diverging: ChatGPT Shopping in Europe depends on Google Shopping feeds, while Amazon and eBay lock out AI agents. For merchants, this means feed quality, bot rules and Checkout status are now operational issues.
🇪🇺 EU · ChatGPT Shopping in Europe still relies on Google Shopping feeds
According to a post from 16 October 2026, ChatGPT Shopping in Europe still draws on Google Shopping feeds. Performance in ChatGPT is currently tied to performance in the Google Shopping channel, and according to the post there is no separate European shopping stack. That already applies to Europe today.
What you can do: Check your Merchant Center feed for completeness and freshness: titles, descriptions, prices, availability. Clarify who is responsible for the feed in your company.

🇩🇪 DE · ShopAgentic: five AI agents running in operation at BOGNER
According to t3n on 16 October 2026, ShopAgentic already has five specialised agents live at BOGNER, with around 60 more in development. They are meant to take routine work off merchants' hands: product information, inventory monitoring, order processing. These are agents on the merchant side, not buying agents. But they are already in use at a German retailer.
What you can do: List which recurring tasks in product data, inventory and order processing take up the most time in your business. Ask your software providers whether they offer agents for them.

🌐 Global · Agent traffic is growing, Amazon and eBay lock out AI agents
According to Semafor on 16 October 2026, Cheq saw agentic traffic rise 100-fold within 45 days. Amazon and eBay have blocked AI agents to protect their advertising business and their control over Checkout. The holiday season will show which brands make their products readable for agents. The report gives no figures for Europe.
What you can do: Check your bot rules (CDN, firewall, robots.txt) to see whether agents are blocked across the board. Decide deliberately whom you let in.

Lots of noise, little substance
🇺🇸 US · Walmart opens its Agent Gateway to external AI agents — Agents can search and buy at Walmart and Sam's Club, with approval and spending limits, currently as a beta. To-dos for tomorrow
